But we are not always as careful as we should be and not deactivating a function on your mobile will cause your bill to skyrocket and the trip to cost you much more than you initially thought.

Roaming in Europe
If you travel in Europe you have to activate roaming on your mobile phone because this will allow you to connect to the Internet wherever you go as if you were at home. You don’t have to pay anything extra nor do you have to call your company as before, just go to the settings and activate the “roaming” button.
The countries in Zone 1 in which we can use the Internet normally are Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, French Guiana , Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Martinique Island, Reunion Island, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Romania, Sweden, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican.

Some give us the option to browse the United Kingdom and even others give us the option to connect to the Internet for free in the United States. But it is not usual and generally you can only do it from the European Economic Area.
In all these cases, the function must be activated on your mobile and the phone will automatically search for an operator to connect to so that you can continue browsing or making calls at the same price as if you were making them in Spain.
Out of Europe
But be careful, having this function activated on your mobile phone will make it very expensive if you are going to travel to a country that is not in the European Economic Area. The first thing you should do if you are going to travel is go to your mobile settings and deactivate data roaming or roaming. If you don’t do this, you may connect to the Internet in the destination country and it may cost you several euros for each megabyte consumed.
