Dimensions

We start with the Skoda Kamiq, the smallest SUV of the Czech firm. The model features a body 4,240mm long, 1,795mm wide and 1,530mm high, all on a 2,650mm wheelbase platform.

On the other hand, the Seat Arona, which is also the access model to the Spanish manufacturer’s SUV range, shares a platform (the MQB-A0) with the Kamiq. In this case, it measures 4,140mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,550mm in height, all on a platform with a 2,565mm wheelbase.

Trunk

With regard to the trunk, the Skoda SUV has a volumetric capacity of 400 liters, a figure that is increased to 1,395 liters by folding down the second row of seats.

Engines

With regard to engines, the Kamiq is available with gasoline engines such as the 1.0 TSI with 95 and 110 hp, and the 1.5 TSI with 150 hp. It is also available with a compressed natural gas (CNG) version, the 90 hp 1.0 TGI block. The engines are either mated to six-speed manual gearboxes or seven-speed DSG automatic transmissions.

Meanwhile, the engines available in the Arona are gasoline, such as the 95 and 110 hp 1.0 TSI, with a five- and six-speed manual gearbox, respectively, or a seven-speed automatic DSG, or the exclusive 150 hp 1.5 TSI with automatic transmission as spearhead. The 1.0 TGI CNG version with 90 hp is the most efficient in the range, with an ECO label.

Standard equipment

We come to the standard equipment section and the Kamiq (Active finish) offers 16-inch wheels, 8-inch touch screen, lane keeping assistant, automatic emergency braking, rear view camera, LED daytime running lights, manual air conditioning , hill start assistant, leather steering wheel and electric mirrors, among others.

As for the equipment of the Arona, the Reference version of access to the range offers 16-inch alloy wheels, multifunction steering wheel, LED headlights, electric mirrors, electric windows, air conditioning, on-board computer and central touch screen for the multimedia system .

Prices

In the price section, the Skoda Kamiq is available in Spain from 17,135 euros, with discounts already applied, when it comes to an Active version with the 95 hp 1.0 TSI engine and five-speed manual gearbox.

For its part, the prices of the Seat Arona start at 17,800 euros for the Reference version with the 95 hp 1.0 TSI engine and five-speed manual transmission.

Despite being two sister models that use the MQB-A0 platform as a base, there are clear differences between the Skoda Kamiq and the Seat Arona. On the one hand, the dimensions, where the Skoda model is 100 mm longer, 15 mm wider and 20 mm lower, in addition to offering 85 mm more wheelbase.

The trunk is the same with five seats, but by folding down the rear seatbacks, the Kamiq emerges victorious with 115 liters more volumetric capacity. On the contrary, there are no differences in the range of engines, sharing both the propellers and the gearboxes.
