SkyShowtime users celebrate that the streaming platform has made another of those silent updates that we like so much. It has not been announced with much fanfare, but the service’s catalog has just released four animated films that were highly anticipated.

When SkyShowtime gives us joy, we get a crazy desire to renew our subscription or to subscribe if we are not SkyShowtime subscribers. And, although they don’t always give them to us, we must admit that, sometimes, they do score a bit. And that is just what has happened in recent days. The platform has added, nothing more and nothing less, than four of the recent films from the South Park animated universe.

South Park for a tube

Unfortunately, South Park is not the animated series that receives the most love in our country. In the past it was possible to watch it on Netflix, but those times have passed. Today, although we have episodes to bursting at the seams on Pluto TV, the truth is that it lacks a bit of accessibility. There are 11 seasons available on Movistar Plus+ and one on Fubo, but it is clearly insufficient. We’re waiting for the day when SkyShowtime does one of its crazy things and uploads all the seasons, 26 no less. But until then, we have excellent news: the availability of four films.

They are also four of the special films produced in recent years. They have a variable length, but longer than the episodes of the series, and that allows you to enjoy longer and crazier stories than usual. In addition, they have been released on SkyShowtime perfectly dubbed into Spanish and respecting the voice actors to whom we have been so accustomed for decades.

Four essential films

In 2021, South Park: Post COVID and South Park: Post COVID – The Return of COVID were published, where you can already imagine that the theme on which the story is based is that of the pandemic. It was obvious that, being a series that has always adjusted to current affairs, the characters of South Park would end up having to deal with what paralyzed the world. In the second of the films, the main characters travel in time to try to stop the pandemic before it starts. And, as a curiosity, we also get to see them as adults.

And in 2022, South Park: The Streaming Wars and South Park: The Streaming Wars Part 2 have been released. But don’t think that it is literally about Netflix, Max or other streaming services. The story is very brainless, it has unexpected ramifications with characters from the South Park universe that we haven’t seen in a while and totally absurd moments that are well worth watching. Both parts hit hard in their original premiere on Paramount+ and it is good news to see that they have also arrived on SkyShowtime so we can enjoy them.

Now, it is possible that, even indicating the years of release, you are wondering where exactly these films fit so that you can follow the thread and see them in order. In the case of those dedicated to COVID, they take place after the episodes of season 24. For their part, the two Streaming Wars films must be seen after the episodes of the following season, season 25.

From this point on, what fans of the universe starring Stan, Cartman and company expect is for the following films to arrive. If all goes well, in a future that we hope is not too distant, South Park: Joining the Panderverse, South Park (Not Suitable for Children) and South Park: The End of Obesity will also be released, which premiered on Paramount+ between October 2023 and May 2024. For now, with these four premieres we already have more than enough to have a good time. And, if we ask, it wouldn’t hurt if someone recovered the classic movie South Park: Bigger, longer and without cuts.
