We find different alternatives with these characteristics where the one mentioned offered by the giant Amazon is one of the most popular. However, as is often the case with the vast majority of online gaming services, it has to be profitable.

Hence, the company has recently decided to announce a wave of layoffs precisely for this reason, to improve the profitability and profits of the platform. Specifically, we are referring to more than 500 employees who have compulsorily left the company.

But apparently the radical measures that are going to be taken do not end here, in fact now they are going to affect the streamers themselves. Apparently now content creators around the world are going to see their profits significantly reduced, as we will tell you below. At the same time, subscribers to this modality of the e-commerce giant have the possibility of supporting their Twitch content creators without paying anything. But now the company has decided to reduce the commission that these streamers will receive for this type of subscriptions from their Prime followers.

How the drop in commissions will affect Twitch streamers

To give us a better idea of the change, in just a few months the streaming platform will reduce profits for streamers and their commissions will also vary depending on the region in which they are located. It must be taken into consideration that the streamers most affected by this change that will occur starting next June 3 are precisely the Spanish speakers. From that date on, Spanish Prime users will pay $1.55, while those from Latin American countries will range between $0.75 and $1.1. It must be taken into account that before these changes, all Primes had a fixed value of $1.9, so the drop is significant.

They have also taken certain measures and are going to make changes so that this reduction affects the most modest creators a little less. To this end, the streaming platform announced that smaller content creators will be able to access a more favorable distribution of income. Specifically, this will go to 60/40 or 70/30 depending on the subscription points of 100 or 300 for 3 consecutive months.

In parallel, Twitch itself affirms with this change that the streamers who will be most affected will be those who already receive 70% of their net income from subscriptions, that is, the most important. Say that all of this will take place starting next June 3 and will be implemented gradually.
