It could go through the car of the protagonist of a science fiction movie.
SUV or robot, nothing stops these four wheels that go everywhere. It could go through the car of the protagonist of a science fiction movie. And it’s hard to believe, but it’s real. Its name responds to that of RoxDawg Abnormal and it has an extensible and fully adaptable chassis. Everything to be able to overcome any obstacle that comes before him. The obstacle has everything to lose…
The name of this work is RoxDawg Abnormal, we have already said that. But what we have not mentioned is who signs it. Alec Yeager, owner and creator of the Rock Dawg firm, which is now known as RoxDawg, is the creator of this all-rounder, can we call it that? Which is capable of anything. And it is that Alec has different types of extreme SUVs that have been created to compete in the off-road discipline of rock crawling.
And he has created it in his spare time, since he has been retired for years. Although perhaps now was the moment, with more time, to be able to create this Abnormal RoxDawg, an evolution of the previous ones created by him. He has a hydraulic system with which he is able to extend his wheelbase, doing it independently. In this way you can expand the front axle, the rear, or both at the same time. Getting in this way that his battle reaches five meters.
It also manages to increase its ground clearance. The SUV can independently adjust different heights for the front axle, the rear axle or, as we mentioned before, both. You can distribute the weight on one side or the other to adapt to the obstacle, being unstoppable climbing walls. And it is that in this way he manages to “stand” at the top in a “pispás”.
And what drives this work? Well, this SUV moves thanks to a 1.9-liter Volkswagen turbodiesel engine. The block is cooled by a radiator equipped with 16 fans, no less! The goal really is to have multiple radiators to prevent the engine from stalling if one breaks. And it is that its use will not be by highway, as you could imagine.
In person it must impress, since its tubular chassis and mechanics are visible. Likewise, all the mechanism that makes it extensible in height, length or inclination can be seen. The model has independent steering wheels, 4×4 suspension and locking differentials. This system is found in both axes and in the central one, of course.
“We do a long awaited build breakdown on the famous hydraulic extendable rock buggy the @roXdawg Abnormal. A builder who is not afraid to push this sport to the limit to the point where top level rock buggies find their platform unfair. Stay tuned to see how he built it, how it works, and if this actually works on the road or if it’s just for teaching”, the description of the video that you have in this article said.
