This will open Tesla’s door to many potential customers who cannot access a Tesla Model 3, the firm’s cheapest model right now. And, in theory, it should provide Elon Musk’s brand with a notable increase in sales.

But what do we know, for now, about the Tesla Model 2? What we can tell you is that Elon Musk’s future hatchback will be built on a new multi-segment platform that will accommodate the new electric motor that the brand has developed, a cheaper motor to produce, because it does not use neodymium.
As Elon Musk’s brand has advanced, the new electric motor will cost approximately 1,000 euros, thanks to the fact that it will not use rare earths for its manufacture. Another important detail is that it will require 75% less silicon carbide during the production process.
Tesla’s new platform also allows the battery to be housed in the lowest part of the car, thus improving its behavior on the road.
On the other hand, the compact Tesla will debut a new construction process for electric cars that is very different from that seen to date in the sector, based on ‘macro parts’ that are designed to reduce production costs and, therefore, offer a lower final sale price.

The Tesla Model 2 will have a size of approximately 4.30 meters in length. Therefore, we are facing a very compact vehicle, clearly focused on the city, but also to make the occasional long journey.
Despite its compact dimensions, the brand promises a spacious interior, with seating for five passengers. It will be a direct rival to models that are already being sold, such as the Volkswagen ID.3, which has just received an update, the Renault Megane E-Tech or the Nissan Leaf, although it is to be expected that Tesla will have a more premium approach. .
Although technical details are not yet known, the Model 2 will have different engines and will benefit from BYD’s new Blade technology, the Chinese electric car brand. The engines will be powered by LFP batteries that will provide a range of approximately 500 kilometers.
There is no announced date for the arrival of the future and expected Tesla Model 2 and it better be so, given that Elon Musk is not usually correct in his forecasts. What is known is that it will be manufactured at the brand’s Gigafactory in Monterrey, Mexico.
