Vans are a type of vehicle that lends itself especially to camper-type preparations, but as a general rule it is not that they are the main objective of those who seek to create an off-road vehicle. However, there are exceptions, and this time the Delta4x4 specialist has chosen the Ford Tourneo Connect as the basis for its creation.

It may not seem like a very obvious choice, but the truth is that the Ford model offers in its range a mechanical variant conducive to this type of approach, since the four-cylinder 2.0 turbodiesel engine with 122 CV and 320 Nm can be associated with a system all-wheel drive, as well as a six-speed manual gearbox.

On this basis, the specialist proposes a whole series of modifications that make the Tourneo Connect a solid option to get off the asphalt.

The first is to improve the footwear, being able to mount 17-inch beadlock-style wheels, wrapped in 235/55R17 Grabber AT3 tires specially designed for off-road use.

The second affects the suspension, improving it with Koni shock absorbers that slightly increase the ground clearance by 20 millimeters. This is combined with specific lower protections that reinforce the areas of the engine and transmission, to be able to navigate with greater confidence over dangerous terrain.

Finally, it is possible to add a front bumper that, in addition to helping to clear obstacles, protects the entire front bumper assembly.

Delta 4×4 has made public the prices of each of the modifications, which can be purchased separately so that it is the customer who decides how far they want to take their Ford Tourneo Connect.

The suspension improvements cost 1,130 euros, the wheels cost 1,974 euros, the tires imply an outlay of 952 euros, the front bumper costs 592 euros and the lower protections 1,142 euros.
