When we hit the road, it is important that the car is in good condition. That’s clear. But we must not forget to bring the corresponding documentation: the driver’s license, the circulation permit and the ITV card.

Obviously, the driver’s license must be valid and have at least one point. In addition, the registration certificate must be valid and clearly include the technical information of the vehicle. Finally, if the vehicle is four years old, it must display the ITV sticker to show that it has passed the various mandatory checks.

In addition to the above, it is mandatory that our vehicle has civil liability insurance to cover damages to third parties, although since 2008 it is not necessary to carry the insurance policy and the receipt of the last payment in force, since the traffic agents they can check it at any time digitally.
But not complying with the above conditions carry very large fines as standard. For example, not having a driver’s license carries a fine of 10 euros. If the data is not up to date, a penalty of 80 euros.

In addition, if the license is expired, it is 200 euros and, if you have a driving license without points, it is considered a serious offense punishable by a fine of 500 euros.
On the other hand, not carrying the circulation permit involves a fine of 10 euros or if you do not have administrative authorization to be able to circulate, the fine amounts to 500 euros.
Finally, regarding the ITV sticker, not wearing it is a 10 euro fine and having the ITV expired is punishable by 200 euros.
