The price of gasoline and diesel continues to fall and already places both below what they were before the 20-cent bonus from the government, in force until the end of the year.
For the second week in a row, the price of gasoline and diesel continues to drop, just as the long weekend for Constitution Day and the Immaculate Conception approaches, a moment that many families will take advantage of to get around.
The average price of fuel in Spain has continued to drop this week, becoming cheaper by almost 3%, and it already places gasoline and diesel below the prices prior to the bonus of 20 cents per liter that the Government approved on 1 of April.
The price of gasoline has been falling for two weeks, although today it has stagnated at 1.695 euros/liters, according to the portal dieselogasolina.com. Let us remember that its historical maximum was 2,152 euros per liter, reached last summer, on June 17.
For its part, the price of diesel accumulates five consecutive weeks falling, reaching today at 1,769 euros/liter, far from its all-time high reached on June 23, when the average reached 2,106 euros/liter.
The gap between the prices of both fuels has narrowed in recent weeks, although diesel remains above gasoline and has already accumulated 16 consecutive weeks in this situation. We remind you that you can locate the cheapest gas stations through Google Maps.
The price of gasoline and diesel falls almost 3%
Gasoline has become cheaper by almost 2% compared to last week, while diesel has done so by about 3%. The prices indicated include taxes, but the discount of 20 cents from the Government must be applied, so the average price of gasoline would remain at 1,495 euros and diesel at 1,569 euros.
However, 98 gasoline has again experienced an increase: today it is paid at 1,859 euros/liter. The same must be said of A+ diesel, whose average price today stands at 1.861 euros/litre.
Gasoline, 14.6% more expensive than a year ago
The current price of gasoline is around the levels of the beginning of October, when it reached 1.697 euros per liter on average, while the price of diesel is close to what it registered in the second week of April.
However, the price of gasoline is 14.6% more expensive than a year ago, without taking into account the bonus of 20 cents, while diesel costs 32.34% more. Applying the subsidy, the difference is reduced to 1.39% in the case of gasoline and 17.8% in diesel.
These figures are recorded in an environment of high crude oil prices in the current context, marked by the war in Ukraine. Yesterday, December 1, a barrel of Brent, a reference in Europe, was trading around 87.2 dollars, while the American Texas was trading around 80.8 dollars.
