There is life beyond SUVs and those who need space, but do not like the increasingly scarce minivans, still have plenty to choose from if they set their sights on family cars or ‘rancheras’. They are very versatile vehicles with a considerable load capacity. These are the ten best family cars to buy in 2023.

Dacia Jogger

The Dacia Jogger is unique in its kind: a seven-seater family car, affordable price and that in its range of engines has both an LPG option (100 CV) and a self-recharging hybrid (140 CV). There is simply no other model with the same characteristics on the market.

Fiat Tipo

The Fiat model is one of the affordable options within the segment. One of its strengths is its boot capacity, with 550 liters that can be expanded to 1,650 liters. In addition, along with the 100 CV access gasoline engine, a 130 CV microhybrid with an ECO label is also available.

Kia Ceed Tourer

Among the multiple bodies offered by the Kia Ceed, the Tourer is the most versatile of all. It has a trunk of 512 liters and its mechanical offer is quite wide, including gasoline engines of 120, 136 and 160 CV; all with microhybrid technology and the first can also be chosen without any electrification.

MG5

A discordant note within the island: the MG is the only electric car on the list and one of the last to enter the Spanish market. It has mechanical power of 156 and 177 hp, approves up to 400 kilometers of autonomy and has a trunk with a 578-liter capacity.

Toyota Corolla Touring Sports

The Toyota Corolla offers a family variant among its multiple bodies, a version that integrates the design of the Japanese compact very well and has all its virtues (such as the two hybrid mechanics of 140 and 196 CV, both with the DGT ECO label), to which it adds a trunk with a more than outstanding capacity.

skoda octavia combi

Like the entire Skoda family, it is a practical, sensible and quite spacious model. It offers engines for practically every type of need, from a 116 CV diesel to the 245 CV sports gasoline in the RS finish, going through intermediate alternatives with a gasoline heart and seasoned with mcirohybrid technology.

Volkswagen Passat Variant

Now that Volkswagen has “killed” the Passat sedan, its station wagon body is the only one available, with a position halfway between generalist models and premium brands. Among its different mechanics, the most outstanding is the 218 CV plug-in hybrid, which has an electrical autonomy of 59 kilometers.

Citroen C5 X

Another option that is out of the ordinary, since the Citroën model has an original format that combines family, SUV and saloon traces. With comfort as the flag, it has 545 liters of luggage space in the 130 and 180 CV gasoline versions, but loses 60 in the plug-in hybrid, which develops 225 CV.

Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake

The CLA is a sports car, which is why it is surprising that the brand proposed a family version and, even more, that the result maintains its essence while increasing its practicality. To round off its proposal, it offers both diesel and gasoline engines, and powers ranging from 136 to 421 CV of the AMG.

BMW 3 Series Touring

Within the premium brands, family bodies are very common, but in this case we opted for the BMW 3 Series, which is more than solvent in its conventional versions, but which also premiered, for the first time in its history, the wild M3 Touring, which has 510 hp and a trunk with a capacity of up to 1,510 liters.
