From today you can order the Moves III for used electric cars but less than 1 year old
The last meeting of the Council of Ministers has closed with an important decision for drivers. The Government has given the green light to a series of changes in the aid program for the acquisition of efficient vehicles, among which the expansion of eligible vehicles stands out: these are the cars that, from today, can request aid from the Moves III Plan .
A few weeks ago, Pedro Sánchez announced his intention to modify the aid for the purchase of electric cars to make Moves a more agile plan. His intention was to respond to an old demand in the sector: to include used vehicles among those that can obtain a discount of up to 7,000 euros.

Moves III plan, from 2021
The third edition of the Moves Plan was activated in 2021 with more money than the previous ones (1,200 million euros in total), more duration (it will be in force until December 31, 2023) and more eligible vehicles (included in addition to those of new registration, models in stock registered less than 9 months old).
As approved, electric mopeds and pre-owned vehicles are left out of the list of vehicles, but experts have long been asking that the latter join the aid since they consider that used electric vehicles are essential to advance decarbonization of the mobile fleet as they are more affordable.
Electric used in the Moves III Plan
There are three changes to the Moves III Plan that take effect today (June 1, 2023). The most important is that, for the first time, you can apply for aid for used electric cars; with one important condition: they cannot be more than one year old.
For the National Association of Ganvam Sellers and Repairers, this is good news, but including only those that do not exceed 12 months old makes it “insufficient”. “If the Government really wants to convert the electric car into an affordable option for the majority of citizens, it must extend the aid to 36-month models,” they request.

Other Changes in Moves III
In addition to the inclusion of used electric vehicles among those eligible for the Moves III Plan, the national aid program for the acquisition of efficient vehicles assumes two other updates:
- The number of vehicles per applicant is increased: until now the maximum allowed was 50 vehicles in each autonomous community and now it rises to 250
- It also increases the number of demonstration vehicles (the so-called 0 km vehicles) that a dealer can sell, going from the current 30 to 90. In addition, the age of eligible vehicles in stock goes from 9 to 12 months
All these changes are already in effect.
