This is the new Chinese SUV that will arrive in Europe but that, for now, you will not be able to buy

The Chinese brand Xpeng will launch two well-equipped electric models in Europe: the P7, a sedan with a coupé look, and the G9, a large and powerful SUV.

Little by little, electric cars from China are penetrating the European market. You have an example in this new Chinese SUV that will arrive in Europe at the end of the year, although you will not be able to buy it, for now.

Xpeng, one of the Chinese luxury manufacturers on the rise, arrives in Europe with two models, the P7 and the G9. The first is a saloon with a drag coefficient of just 0.236, and the second an SUV. Orders are now available in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands, the only markets where it will initially be available.

Prices vary by country, but deliveries of the P7 will begin in June, with a starting price of €49,990 in the Netherlands. For its part, the G9 will arrive in this country in September, with a price of 57,990 euros.

Xpeng P7, new Chinese electric saloon

As for the Xpeng P7, it is a sedan with a very clean, sporty and aerodynamic design, an interior equipped with leather and heated seats, heated steering wheel, wireless charger, panoramic roof, ambient lighting, a 15-inch digital screen and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster.

This Chinese electric sedan is available with two mechanical configurations: one with rear-wheel drive that develops 276 hp and 440 Nm of torque, and another called Performance with two motors and all-wheel drive, with 473 hp and 757 Nm of torque. In the first case, it does 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and in the second in 4.1 seconds.

In both cases, the propulsion train is connected to an 82.7 kWh battery that provides a range of 576 kilometers in the basic version and 505 kilometers in the most powerful, always according to the WLTP cycle.

According to Xpeng, the battery can be recharged from 10 to 80% in 29 minutes, using a 175 kW DC charger. Instead, using an 11 kW AC, it takes about five hours to go from 30 to 80%.

G9, the new Chinese SUV that arrives in Europe

This new Chinese and electric SUV does not have as striking a design as its brother in sedan format, but it does have interesting elements such as flush handles, a sunroof, an electric trunk release and 19-inch wheels.

The interior includes equipment similar to the P7, such as heated and ventilated leather seats, the digital instrument panel, the 15-inch screen of the multimedia system or the wireless charger.

Here we also have several versions: one with rear-wheel drive of 313 CV and 430 Nm of torque, with a 78.2 kWh battery that gives a range of 460 kilometers or a Long Range variant, with a 98 kW battery that allows it to travel 570 kilometers.

On the other hand, a more powerful version, Performance, with two motors and all-wheel drive, with a total power of 551 hp and 717 Nm of torque. This variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, reaches 200 km/h and has a range of 520 kilometers.

Both the Xpeng P7 and the G9 are equipped with a package of driving assistants called XPilot, consisting of adaptive cruise control, lane centering, active lane change assistant, automatic parking assistant and parking assistant. automatic exit parking.
