They have inspired production cars, yes.
Among the three Mitsubishi prototypes that should have been manufactured, we find everything, but of course the SUV and off-road vehicle is key. Mitsubishi has a rich past in this field, an experience that allows it to continue to innovate. These concepts were not manufactured but they did serve as inspiration for models that arrived later. Design exercises that we remember in these lines.
Mitsubishi Mi Tech Concept
The Mitsubishi Mi Tech Concept was presented at the Tokyo Motor Show as a small plug-in hybrid electric SUV. The brand said that it was capable of offering large doses of driving and high safety in any circumstance. It certainly drew attention, with an aesthetic that led us to imagine the perfect buggy. His innovations were several, with a new four-motor electric 4×4 system.
Mitsubishi e-Evolution
The Mitsubishi e-Evolution was deeply inspired by the Montero, the brand’s great off-roader. It was featured with an advanced high-performance 4WD all-wheel drive system, a technology with great traction capacity. Of course, the brand assured that they had not forgotten the agility necessary for driving on the road. A concept that left us with the figure of a beefy SUV coupé with a slender rear. Very attractive!
Mitsubishi XR-PHEV Concept
The Mitsubishi XR-PHEV Concept was presented with a 4.37 m long body. Under its skin it had two engines, both placed in the front. The battery of the hybrid system was placed under the floor of the passenger compartment. It had a three-cylinder gasoline thermal engine with 136 hp and a 163 hp electric motor. All under a very sharp and sporty design bodywork.
