Now the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO has 660 Nm of torque.
The Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO is the perfect example of how a brand can launch a model on the market that performs very well in its own field (in this case, the GT4 category competitions) and, even so, listen to its customers to improve it in the areas they deem appropriate.
The GT4 variant of the Toyota GR Supra went on sale in 2019 and in these three years 50 units have been sold. They may not seem like many, but their performance in competition has been remarkable, since they have achieved a total of 100 podiums and no less than 50 victories in both national and international events.
It retains its 3.0 turbocharged six-cylinder engine of BMW origin, but it has been improved by increasing its power and its torque curve, offering optimized performance, although Toyota has not given specific data on the figures it has reached, since the power depends on the configuration, only the torque is now 660 Nm.
Among the novelties that the block incorporates are an ECU signed by Marelli and an Akrapovic exhaust system. The ZF automatic gearbox is retained, as well as the rear-wheel drive system with a limited-slip differential.
In other areas, the brake system has been changed, now featuring various settings for ABS; and the suspension has been complemented with adjustable shock absorbers and new stabilizer bars that achieve better behavior at high speeds.
The Japanese brand has already opened orders for the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO, priced at 186,000 euros. In addition, it offers owners of the “normal” Supra GT4 the possibility of purchasing the upgrades separately to remain competitive.
The debut of the evolved model in competition is scheduled for the 24 Hours of Daytona 2023, which will be held next January.
