We are talking about the spectacular Ducati Matrix 998 that the Italian manufacturer launched back in 2004 to celebrate the success of the second film set in the Matrix universe.

It is a special edition of just 250 units (Neo himself has one in his house) that Ducati manufactured and put on sale, and that paid homage to the motorcycle that Trinity pilots in the film in one of the most thrilling chases in American cinema. the last times. Indeed, it is the commercial and street version of the Ducati that appears in the spectacular chase whose protagonists are Neo, Morpheus, Trinity, the Keymaker, the twins at the service of Merovingian and, of course, different agents of Matrix.
The model seen in ‘Matrix Reloaded’ was a 996. The Ducati Matrix, on the other hand, was a version of the 998, the next one released by the Borgo Panigale manufacturer, which left behind the ‘Desmoquattro’ engine and opted for the successful ‘ Testastretta’ (narrow head). A propeller that would later end up using the 999 and 1098 as well. With this engine, Ducati gained in reliability and increased power. Without going any further, the 996 had 112 hp, while the 998 reached 123 hp.
This Ducati Matrix 998, which stands out for its color green!! (the emblem color of the Matrix universe), in its day it was already auctioned in Las Vegas in 2009, and went to the hands of a British collector who owns the MIS Motorcycles dealership, located in Newark (in England). After enjoying it for more than a decade, he has now decided that it is a good time to sell it; to pass into the hands of another owner, and for this reason he has put it up for sale. Its price: 13,500 pounds, about 16,200 euros to change.
