It’s time to disassemble it. But first, we will tell you how everything went.

After two and a half years, we have completed the 100,000 kilometer test with the Audi RS 4. Now it’s time to take it apart, but first, I’m going to tell you what we liked a lot, and what we didn’t like so much. Audi RS 4 Avant, 100,000 km test, how does your engine reach the end of the test?

Here we have the heart of the RS4: the 2.9-liter V6 biturbo that has performed incredibly well throughout the test, yes, with an average consumption of 13.1 liters. But you have to keep in mind that most of the stages have been through Germany and many of them have been going hard, so it’s not bad. In a normal day to day, it can be kept below 10 liters. Other than that, it has hardly given us any problems.

and that have been all. On the other hand, the cylinder bank and the rest of the Audi engine will be completely disassembled in Ingolstadt, and there we will see if some parts have worn out or not. We love the 20-inch wheels, but they limit the comfort of the car a bit, but in return they provide exceptional steering support, and that is what marries the RS4.

And it’s time to open this lid: because only 58 liters of gasoline enter the tank: you will understand that on a German Autobahn going full throttle, that does not go far for many kilometers. Here we have the logbook, where my colleagues have written down what they like and what they don’t. One, for example, writes that at 44,000 kilometers he has lived one of his happiest moments, in the left lane of an unlimited Autobahn and the tachometer reading 290 km / h. And all, he says, with a consumption of less than 15 liters. It doesn’t sound bad at all.

Another colleague writes: “At 51,930 kilometers he showed that long journeys are not a problem. The seats are super comfortable, and the chassis has room for some comfort.” Another classmate pointed out: “Where has the sound gone? Even in RS mode, it’s more in the background than I expected.” Another tester was happy at 95,805 kilometers how spacious the trunk and the second row are.

If we sum it up, this is a modern Gran Turismo. It is very good for long trips, long fast ones in fact, one sits very comfortably in seats with massage and very well contoured. The chassis offers a good combination of sportiness and comfort, and consumption, although high, does not run wild.
