Jeep is working on the world’s first autonomous Off Road vehicle… Are you convinced? The company has taken advantage of the celebration in the United States of the National Autonomous Vehicle Day to show its advances with this technology. A team led by Neda Cvijetic, head of AI and autonomous driving at Stellantis, was testing the latest prototypes equipped with this technology in Moab, Utah.
“Just as 4xe electrification takes the off-road capability of the Jeep brand to new levels, these advanced off-road drive systems will help more customers in more countries around the world come together and enjoy new adventures. These systems and technologies will have practical applications on and off the road and in a wide range of driving conditions,” said Christian Meunier, CEO of the Jeep brand.
This technology is installed in electrified Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe models, and is based on Artificial Intelligence, the same one that is currently being talked about so much. With it, according to the brand, you can improve the experiences of both the most experienced off-road customers and customers who are new to this type of driving. Likewise, they assure that they will be able to help drivers in their daily tasks.
“The Jeep brand team was in Moab, Utah to test the latest prototype autonomous off-road driving technology, installed in two electrified Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe models. For 80 years, the Jeep name has been indelibly associated with freedom, authenticity, adventure and passion. These are vehicles for “dreamers and doers”: they forge extraordinary and rare bonds between themselves and their owners because adventure is in the DNA of every Jeep vehicle.
