The new Porsche 911 Dakar has been created to remember the success of the brand in the 1984 Paris Dakar, which as you know was held in Africa and was won by Jacky Ickx. And that’s without counting the Rally Design Pack, the most rally-oriented equipment that raises the price of the Porsche sports car by around 30,000 euros.
It does not lack accessories focused on seeking the limits off the road. It has a roof rack that supports 42 kg of weight, extended off-road type led lights, 12-volt socket, reinforced plastic box with tools and a basket with three-liter drums. The roof is carbon fiber reinforced plastic borrowed from the GT3 and the front and rear tow hooks are red painted forged aluminum.
The homage to the Porsche 953 has an engine inherited from a version of the 911 Carrera. In this case it is the GTS, since it mounts the six-cylinder boxer with 480 horsepower. With this heart, it is capable of going from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h, a speed that is limited by the wheels it uses.
