Since August 2022, Toyota has been marketing an updated version with some improvements in technological and connectivity equipment and a slight facelift.
The Toyota RAV4 is a true benchmark in the segment of intermediate SUVs and, without a doubt, this is one of the best options for those who are thinking of changing cars and looking for a spacious and versatile SUV, with a good boot.
The fifth generation of the Toyota RAV4 hit the market at the end of 2018. It is a large SUV, with capacity for five passengers and available with two mechanics, one hybrid and another plug-in hybrid. The first has an ECO Label and the second a ZERO Label.
Since August 2022, Toyota has been marketing an updated version with some improvements in technological and connectivity equipment and a slight facelift.
Recently, the Japanese SUV has received a new variant called GR Sport, with more exclusive equipment and a sporty look, although the drive train has not undergone changes.
As for prices, the range starts at 39,900 euros, a price that corresponds to the Business finish and front-wheel drive. The top-of-the-range versions, GR Sport and Adventure, cost 50,600 euros.
Next, we are going to highlight the aesthetic and interior changes of the new RAV4, with respect to the model that was born in 2018.
Five differences of the Toyota RAV4: very subtle changes
When brands apply a facelift, the aesthetic differences are usually very subtle and tend to focus more on introducing new items of equipment.
The aesthetic changes in the new RAV4 2023 are very minor, practically non-existent. Even so, we can highlight the new sets of wheels available and the new architecture of the optical groups, both front and rear. But little more.
new colors
Another aesthetic novelty that we can highlight are the three new colors available, both for the RAV4 Plug in Hybrid version and the conventional hybrid.
Those new colors are Platinum White Pearl (except in the Adventure trim), as well as the option to add the roof in Midnight Black Metallic to create a two-tone effect.
new media system
The new Toyota RAV4 has improved one of its sins: the information and entertainment system. Now it has a new system supported by a 10.5-inch screen and compatible as standard with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The new equipment also obtains navigation data from the cloud, with information on traffic in real time or the availability of parking within a radius of proximity.
Optionally, the system can offer other functions, such as navigation without a data connection, recognition of signs, weather alerts and alerts for low emission zones.
The 10.5-inch touch screen has a new interface with an LCD panel and touch control, although it leaves some physical controls for climate control and sound.
New 12.3-inch instrumentation
Also new inside the RAV4 is the new 12.3-inch instrumentation. Not only is it bigger than before, but it also offers more configuration options, with up to four modes: Casual, Smart, Sport and Tough.
Depending on the chosen mode, it modifies the design and the projected information. The new dashboard interface displays better resolution and quality, thanks to data customization and the use of new graphics.
Updated Toyota Safety Sense Package
The last of the differences of the Toyota RAV4 is the update introduced in the Toyota Safety Sense package, which improves some security systems.
It now includes an avoidance maneuver to avoid being run over by pedestrians, an emergency braking system for intersections and a forward collision warning system when a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction invades the lane.
