Volkswagen has registered a patent for an ID. Buzz with pick-up body, with a design in which the roof and panels disappear from the C-pillar, leaving a cargo bed.

Scott Keogh, former CEO of Volkswagen in America, acknowledged in April, days before the publication of that tweet, that the manufacturer was actively studying the possibility of bringing an electric pick-up to production, while describing the current transition to the electric car as “the opportunity of a lifetime”.
It should be remembered that Keogh is now the CEO of Scout, a recently created brand that will be dedicated to the production of electric SUVs and pick-ups for the United States.
