The EICMA in Milan 2022 served for the presentation of the Honda CL500, about which we have given you complete information at www.solomoto.es. Well, based on the new twin-cylinder engine of the unprecedented Honda XL750 Transalp and CB750 Hornet, the Japanese Shinja Miyabuko has made this design exercise… Will we see a future Honda CL750?
To do this, it is based on the new CB750 Hornet. To which it gives the neo-retro appearance of the CL500. A motorcycle that, let us remember, imitates the style of the 1962 CL72. In this case, the 471 cc and 47 CV of the “half-litre” version would give way to a much more powerful motorcycle. Of 755 cc and 92 CV of maximum power.
Honda promotes the CL500 as a motorcycle for a young audience. However, a possible CL750 would have a different customer. Mature drivers who want a Honda, with a scrambler tint, without giving up a good dose of power and torque.
At the moment they are only conjectures published in the Japanese magazine Autoby. But, the idea for 2024 would not be at all unreasonable. In fact, when the Japanese media speculate about new models, they are almost always right. Or very frequently. And it is that they usually have first-hand information obtained from reliable sources.
Will we see a future Honda CL750? Time in the medium term will tell. We will remain attentive to events!
