Now that the 2023 Dakar is about to start, it’s good to remember the roots of the toughest raid in the world. Yes, that Paris-Dakar, where a large part of Africa was crossed without GPS or anything like that, with a paper roadbook…
From that rally the legendary Yamaha Ténéré 600 was born, back in the early 80s, a motorcycle with a 43 CV LC single-cylinder engine.
Now and 40 years later, the well-known tuner Unit Garage pays homage with this kit to transform the current Ténéré 700 into a motorcycle very similar to that adventurous one.
The kit comes unpainted or either painted in classic blue or midnight black. Consists of a round LED headlight, with number mask, sticker kit, new front turn signals, a high-mounted front fender, metal hoses, a set of side panels and a new aluminum radiator guard, plus everything you need for its assembly.
All the parts and screws for the assembly of the Yamaha Ténéré Unit Garage kit are included, as well as an illustrative video to make it easier to transform the Yamaha. According to Unit Garage, there is a significant reduction in weight compared to the series Ténéré, although it does not specify the figure.
The price of the kit in blue or black is 1,398 euros and 1,226 euros without it is unpainted. For more information, check the Unit Garage website.
