At the moment it is only a prototype.

Airstream is one of the iconic brands in the world of caravans. Now, he has joined forces with Studio FA Porsche, the German brand’s accessories firm, to design what the ultimate Porsche camper would look like.

Called the Airstream Studio FA Porsche Concept Travel Trailer, it is inspired by the electric models of the German brand, but, unlike other prototypes seen in recent months, it does not have its own electrified system that helps the vehicle’s autonomy.

To help in this regard, they have focused above all on aerodynamics, based on which the entire caravan has been shaped, opting for solutions such as a flat floor.

For the rest, it has everything you need to live inside: a complete kitchen with a sink, fridge and stove, a living room at the back that becomes a bedroom, a drop-down roof so that there is more interior height, a side awning, two folding seats in the rear, etc.

Bob Wheeler, CEO of Airstream, said: “Our customer base is twice as likely to own an electric car as the general population. Pulling a trailer reduces range. Weight and aerodynamics play a big part in that.”

“We understand that this future (that of electric cars) is coming. It’s here and it’s still growing. We know our customers don’t park in summer or seasonal campgrounds, they’re on the road.”

The Airstream Studio FA Porsche Concept Travel Trailer will be unveiled at the South by Southwest event in Austin, Texas, United States; although only as a 1:3 scale model, since there has not yet been time to manufacture the full-scale prototype.

As to whether it will go into production, nothing has been specified, but it has been pointed out that it most likely will not lead to a street model directly, but some of the solutions used in it will.
