Halloween is coming and there is someone who doesn’t want to miss it: Alexa. Amazon’s voice assistant is ready to make this special night, as well as the days leading up to it, full of fun. To do this, those who use the assistant can take advantage of a good number of voice commands and special functions.
Conversations with Alexa can be endless. The Amazon assistant hides much more than you imagine and it is not always easy to access it. If you are already used to taking advantage of the assistant with your Amazon speaker or with any other device, now you can make the most of its use with the different Halloween commands.
Fun with a touch of horror
The first thing Amazon suggests we do with Alexa is to ask her how much time we have left until we get to Halloween. This is a system with which the assistant will tell you the time, in case you have lost track of when exactly this holiday is celebrated. To do this, all you have to say is: “Alexa, how long until Halloween?” That will activate what Amazon calls the countdown to Halloween, so it will help you be totally ready for the celebration.
Below is a wide range of commands you can use with Alexa. For example, you can activate a scarier version of Alexa by saying, “Alexa, turn on Zombie Mode.” Of course, it will not be activated immediately, but you will have to correctly answer three questions related to zombies. Another option is to tell Alexa the classic “Alexa, trick or treat,” which will make the assistant show you that it is totally ready for the celebration.
To continue making Halloween fun, we can also say “Alexa, scare me”, at which point the assistant will do everything possible to give you goosebumps. If you have visitors and you use this command without them knowing, they will possibly get a major scare. It will be ideal if you organize some type of Halloween party or gathering and want to add a macabre touch to the moment. Imagine that you are watching a scary movie with the lights off and that you activate this command by speaking quietly or giving the order to Alexa through your mobile. They sure get scared!
In addition, Amazon also gives us the idea of creating a lighting routine to be activated by voice and, for example, turn the bulbs on and off with different lighting colors. In a matter of just a few minutes you could create a lighting routine that makes your house look like it’s possessed. For example, first set all the lights to turn off and then, 10 seconds later, to turn on red.
Customize many more commands
But that’s not all, since there are still more things you can ask Alexa for Halloween. If you put the tag “Halloween” in different requests, the assistant will give the answers or generate actions in a personalized way. For example, you can ask Alexa to tell a Halloween joke with the command “Alexa, tell me a Halloween joke” or to start singing with the voice command “Alexa, sing the Halloween rap” (you know the Alexa really likes raps). Other available options include “Alexa, sing a Halloween song” or “Alexa, tell me a scary story.” There are other possibilities that you may be able to discover for yourself.
Finally, Amazon also reminds us that, once Halloween is over, it is time to look at Christmas. And of course, Alexa has her own commands. We don’t want to get into it too much, because we consider that it is still early, but you can use two options that don’t hurt. On the one hand, the command “Alexa, how long until Christmas?” and, on the other hand, “Alexa, where is Santa Claus?”, which will help you know if he is still in Lapland or what exactly he is doing.
