Disney+ is one of the streaming platforms that we use to watch some of the best current series or essential movies every day. It is compatible with televisions, with applications for mobile phones, tablets, computers… But you may have found a bug that does not allow you to use it and we will explain how you can solve it.
There are many errors that can occur when we open Disney+ and one of the most frequent is error code 142. You may have gone to watch an episode of your favorite series and found the following message:
“Sorry, we’re having trouble connecting you to the service. Check that you still have an Internet connection and try again (Error Code 142).”
In that case, we will not be able to access the platform or we will not be able to see any type of content, but why is this happening? There are some causes that cause the failure and we will tell you what the main problems are and what you should do to solve it.
What causes the error?
Disney+ is clear with the most frequent causes of this error code 142 on the platform: The Internet does not work as it should. There are many errors that can appear on Disney+ but in this case it refers to an error related to the Internet or network connection. As they explain from their own help website, “it is likely that it is an Internet or network connection problem.”
Because? Because you have a slow or unstable Internet connection that cannot play content fluently and with quality or because the WiFi signal you are connecting to from the device is too weak.
How to solve
The solution in this case is very simple and involves checking the Internet connection and WiFi signal. If we are connected to a computer and the WiFi coverage is not working well, you can try connecting via cable to solve this problem, for example. In the case of Smart TV, we can follow the same steps to avoid signal problems. But if none of this is possible, it is advisable that you check the router and check the network.
From Disney+ they explain to us that if we have recently suffered a service outage with the Internet provider, it is best to disconnect the router and all installed devices and restart them. Restart the router. Disconnect the cables, wait a few minutes and reconnect them. Test now if the error disappears and if you can play Disney+.
If none of this works, it is advisable that you review your installation and check why there is poor coverage. In this case we can use some elements such as PLC or signal amplifiers that make the devices we are using to connect to the Internet receive WiFi better and we can watch series and movies without any problem.
If you are having the error outside the home, you won’t be able to do much. You can try to activate and deactivate Airplane Mode on your mobile phone or tablet to see if the connection improves after this, you can restart the device or simply download the content you want to see to view it offline and not depend on connection or coverage problems.
When you have checked everything related to the Internet connection, Disney+ asks you to restart the device you are using, reopen the streaming application and try to watch the video again in a few minutes. Now it should let you see it without errors.
Other errors
There are other similar error codes that you may see on Disney+ that may be related to this. For example, error code 83 may be due to a slow or unstable connection, or error codes 91 and 91 may appear for the same reason: the Internet is not operating at the minimum speed required by the streaming platform.
In this case, follow the same steps and try to solve your coverage and signal.
