If you consider yourself a traveler, you should know that your mobile network will track another signal to connect to the Internet. But don’t worry, because roaming no longer exists and you will be able to establish a connection without problem. However, it is true that, if you are a Digi user, you must take into account which are the regions in which you maintain all your services without any type of cost and others where charges will be applied for using your smartphone.
Traveling is a pleasure, as the song by the eternal TV clown “Miliki” says, and the operators know it. Free roaming began to be implemented in June 2017 thanks to an agreement by the European Union in order to put an end to abuses of special pricing in the foreign and, since then, this benefit has extended to our times. This service allows you to call, send messages and connect to the Internet the same way you do in your home country.
However, everything has its limits, and there are some countries in the European Union that do not adhere to the roaming plan, so it is necessary to make sure of all those nations that have this condition eliminated. Not to mention those who are on the other side of the pond. Be that as it may, we describe in the following lines what the countries with and without roaming if you have contracted a Digi mobile rate.
What countries do not have roaming?
Telephone operators in Spain usually divide the use of roaming abroad by zones. Digi is no exception and also implements this procedure in its portfolio. In this way, the Romanian operator offers free roaming to all countries that are part of the European Union and the European Economic Area. The list of the RLAH Zone is as follows:
Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Romania, Sweden.
This means that, if you travel to any of the countries we have named, you will be able to navigate and call from your mobile as if you were at home, regardless of the mobile product you have contracted with Digi and at no extra cost.
However, it should be noted that if roaming is abused in these countries, Digi could punish the user by applying a series of costs to your next bill, whether you have a contract or prepaid. Although only in the following cases:
- If data consumption is greater than in Spain.
- If you reside for more days in a Zone 1 country (RLAH) than in your country of origin.
And which ones do have it?
On the other hand, those countries that are not part of the European Union do have roaming and, therefore, an extra payment will be established for using the Internet and making voice calls from your smartphone. The list of the non-RLAH Zone is as follows:
Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Qatar, Chile, Colombia, South Korea, Costa Rica, Cuba, Egypt, El Salvador, United Arab Emirates, United States, Philippines, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel , Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, North Macedonia, Malaysia, Morocco, Mexico, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Nicaragua, Nigeria, New Zealand, Oman, Panama
Paraguay. Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Rep., Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine.

How do I activate roaming service?
In general, roaming will be activated automatically on your mobile, but there are times when it has to be done manually. Digi has made available to you a very easy way to do it, both for Android and iOS, following this small scheme:
