Be careful if you fly with Ryanair: there are three countries where it is not possible to carry your ticket on your mobile phone

Check out this list of destinations for which you need to print out your boarding pass, so you don’t end up with an unwanted extra expense on your trip.

As long as you know your phone’s battery will last long enough, carrying boarding passes, tickets, or tickets for transportation or events on your phone is extremely convenient. Apps like Apple Wallet or Google Wallet make this very easy for both iPhone and Android users, so people can save themselves a trip to the nearest stationery store to print out paper documents. However, there are exceptions to everything, and to avoid a setback when you arrive at the airport, you should know that there are several destinations where digital tickets are not accepted.

Irish airline Ryanair warns its passengers about this on its website, as, although it can be fixed, someone who is short on time will not be happy about having to go to a check-in counter to print their ticket, much less pay the 20 euro fee that Ryanair could charge in exchange for this simple service if it is carried out at the boarding gate.

There are three destinations served by this airline where, they warn, it is not possible to pass through security simply by showing a QR code on the screen of your smartphone. These are Morocco, Turkey and the capital of Albania, Tirana. At all airports located in these regions, airport staff will require passengers to show a printed boarding pass, and will not accept the digital version. Keep this in mind if your summer vacation is going to pass through any of these places.

Check-in will still have to be done online, but passengers will need to make sure they have a printed ticket with them. Airlines usually have machines at airports where you can print out your ticket free of charge. You should also obtain tickets if you check in luggage.

Avoid surprises at the airport

This is just another detail to keep in mind to avoid unpleasant surprises at the airport. Not only because you might not be able to travel (in the worst case scenario, it should be enough to ask for your ticket to be printed at the boarding gate), but because any oversight of this type will end up in a greater expense. At the end of May, we learned of the multi-million euro fine imposed in Spain on several airlines for abusive policies in various aspects, such as hand luggage or charging for choosing a seat under certain circumstances, among others. The list of airlines fined is made up of: Ryanair, EasyJet, Vueling, Volotea, Transavia, Eurowings and Wizz Air.
