The company has taken advantage of Automobile Barcelona 2023 to announce the price of the BYD Dolphin, a new model that is already accepting reservations.
The Salón de Barcelona 2023 opens its doors to the public from May 13 to 21. The Barcelona event has been the place chosen by BYD to gather its range of models in the same stand, at the same time that it shows the new BYD Dolphin and BYD Seal for the first time in Spain. And, in addition to showing its range of products, the brand has made the price of the BYD Dolphin official.
With this addition, BYD increases its product portfolio to four models, adding the Dolphin to the already present Atto 3, Tang and Han. Of the BYD Dolphin, the company has revealed not only the prices, but also the technical specifications and how it is distributed. the offer of finishes and its standard equipment.
This is the new BYD Dolphin
For starters, the BYD Dolphin is a C-segment compact that belongs to the Ocean family of models and is based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0. It is 4.29 meters long and has a boot with a volumetric capacity of 345 liters that can be expanded to 1,310 liters simply by folding down the rear seat backs.
The one that is called to be the direct rival of the MG4 Electric is presented with a range that includes three power levels and two battery options. The electric motor develops 70 kW (95 CV) in its entry-level version, 130 kW (177 CV) for the intermediate model and 150 kW (204 CV) for the most performance option.
BYD’s Blade Battery is a cobalt-free lithium iron phosphate battery that offers two different energy capacities: 45 kWh and 60.4 kWh. The 45 kWh unit is associated with the 95 hp and 177 hp motor, while the higher capacity battery is exclusive to the 204 hp model.
In this way, the BYD Dolphin can announce an approved autonomy in combined cycle of up to 427 kilometers with a single charge in the most efficient version, as well as fast charging in direct current with a power of up to 88 kWh, which allows it to go from 30% to 80% charge level of the 60.4 kWh battery in 29 minutes.

Regarding the range of finishes, BYD divides the offer of the new Dolphin into four different levels:

Active: it is the entry-level version, with the 95 HP engine and the 45 kWh battery and has equipment elements such as emergency braking, speed limit recognition, blind spot control, intelligent cruise control, LED lighting, 360º camera, rear parking sensors and Dirac sound system with six speakers.

Boost: this trim level has a 177 hp electric motor and a 45 kWh battery, and adds 17-inch alloy wheels and multi-link rear suspension to its standard equipment on the Active version.

Comfort: this model has 204 hp and 60.4 kWh of energy capacity in the battery. It offers the V2L two-way charging function and a high-fidelity sound system with eight speakers signed by Dirac.

Design: finally, the most complete version has the technical characteristics of the Comfort finish, but adds more standard equipment, such as the practicable panoramic roof, tinted windows in the rear seats and wireless charging for mobile devices.
All BYD models benefit during the month of May 2023 from a warranty extension of up to 6 years or 150,000 kilometers.

BYD has announced that reservations for the Dolphin are now accepted at Automobile Barcelona and that the first units are scheduled for delivery in September of this year. In addition, during the development of the Salón de Barcelona you will be able to purchase the Design version with an additional discount of 2,420 euros.
