This coming weekend, the first of March 2022, one of the great two-wheel festivals in the US will be held: Daytona Bike Week.
Within this scenario, the North American manufacturer Buell will present two new motorcycles: the Baja DR (Dune Race), and the SuperTouring 1190.
From the first, he spoke on his Instagram account on February 26, going so far as to say that it will be “the fastest off-road motorcycle in the world.” That is saying a lot, if we take into account the current maxitrail. We are not going to contradict them, at least for now.
They commented the same about the SuperTouring, but referring to touring motorcycles… In view of these comments, we are not very clear if “across the pond” they are aware of the products developed in Europe and Japan. But hey, we’ll see.
High performance for the Buell Baja DR and SuperTouring 1190
Without having seen anything of them, more than a “teaser”, the only thing we know conscientiously is that both will be powered by the liquid-cooled 1190 cc V-twin ET-V2 from Buell. The same one that animates the Hammerhead 1190, 1190SX and 1190HCR.
For the SuperTouring Buell declares a maximum power of 185 hp, and a torque of 136 Nm; while for the Baja DR it drops to 175 hp, maintaining the same torque.
Production of the sport-turing model will begin later this year, and its starting price in the US will be $21,995 (approximately €19,800). The maxitrail will not enter the assembly line until at least 2023, and its price should be below $20,000 (approximately €18,000). However, there is still time for changes to emerge in this regard.
Be that as it may, we can’t wait to see these two new Buell Baja DR and SuperTouring 1190.
