Easter is just around the corner and many of us are already thinking about where we are going to travel. However, if you are one of those who stay at home, Disney + helps you with a good number of premieres for this next month.

Below you have a large number of series that arrive on the platform during the month, some of them coinciding precisely with Easter. There are also the occasional documentary, but what we will miss this month will be more movies.

New series and documentaries on Disney+

On April 5, one of the first bombings of the month arrives, Las Buenas Madres. This original Italian series, winner of the Best Series award at the Berlinale Series of the Berlin International Film Festival and inspired by a true story, tells the story of three women who dare to challenge the ‘Ndrangheta mafia and try to take it down from within.

On April 7, Tiny Beautiful Things arrives on the platform to adapt Cheryl Strayed’s novels into a series format. This new series tells the story of a woman whose marriage is hitting rock bottom, whose daughter barely speaks to her, and whose writing career is a thing of the past. Everything changes when she accepts a new job writing an advice column.

Rennervations premieres on April 12, a documentary miniseries that will see actor Jeremy Renner traveling the world to repurpose decommissioned vehicles to meet the needs of each community. He will have the help of other celebrities such as Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Hudgens, Anil Kapoor and Sebastián Yatra.

The first part of the second season of How I Met Your Father arrives on April 19. Sophie (Hilary Duff) and her close-knit group of friends continue to try to figure out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.

To commemorate Earth Day, the long-awaited documentary The Elephants’ Secret, directed by James Cameron, finally arrives on April 22, taking viewers around the world, from Africa to Asia, while recounting the complex emotions, the connections and sophisticated lives of elephants from many different regions. The four-episode documentary series will be narrated by Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman and will feature renowned National Geographic explorer and elephant expert Dr. Paula Kahumbu as she not only shows audiences the majesty of these great animals, it also highlights how similar they are to us.

To close the month we have on April 26 the premiere of Sam Meffire: fall of a Saxon symbol, a German miniseries based on the story of the first black policeman in East Germany, from his childhood as an outcast, shaped by the murder of his father, his fight for justice against an overwhelming system, his rise as a symbolic figure and his media success until his fall and flight as an internationally wanted enemy of the state.

That same day we have a Spanish thriller with You would do it too, a series that begins with an armed robbery on the bus line that connects the Barcelona airport with Manresa. and it ends with the three robbers ending up dead, the murderer manages to escape and the six witnesses on the bus seem unable to identify the fugitive to protect the one who killed the bad guys. Its cast includes Ana Polvorosa, Michelle Jenner, Paco Tous, Pablo Molinero, Ana Wagener, Elena Irureta, José Manuel Poga, Chechu Salgado, Mirela Balic, Xavi Sáenz, Pilar Bergés and Viti Suárez.

Movies released in April

It is not going to be a very prolific month in terms of film releases. Once the Oscar season is over, which left us great premieres, and without any Marvel movie that has already completed its cycle in theaters, this month we will have only one new movie.

On April 28 we will have a remake of one of the great Disney classics. On this occasion, Peter Pan & Wendy will tell the story of Wendy Darling, a girl who is afraid of leaving the world behind.
