The Civil Guard has put into circulation the reminder of its mobile application in case you find yourself in a risk situation that could become alarming. In this way, whether you are an Android or iOS user, you can enter the online stores of Google Play Store and Apple App Store to download the AlertCorps app, which is free to use and has currently reached 2 million downloads.
Since its launch in 2014, the app has been changing its interface, including improvements in calls and the incorporation of the assistance button. During the last few months, this app has been used to report more than 180,000 robberies, riots and even harassment of gender victims.
Furthermore, regarding its operation, any person, regardless of their language or hearing or vocal disabilities, will be able to communicate to the Civil Guard an alert about what is happening at that precise moment.

How do you use AlertCops?
Once you have downloaded the application, as soon as you enter, it will ask you to activate the device’s location. This request is crucial so that security professionals can immediately attend the location from where you send the alert in case you are unable to speak.
Next, you must add all your personal information, such as your full name, and accept the terms of the privacy policy. Then, validate your phone number by obtaining a code via SMS. On the next screen, you can configure the security level that you consider appropriate. At the high level you ensure you have access to the SOS Button and Guardian mode, which we explain in the following lines.
Guardian mode will be used to make your position more precise and you can add your closest contacts in case you have an emergency. Likewise, the SOS Button will be of great help to send an immediate notice to the personal contacts that you have added to your guardian list and directly to the authorities, along with your location and a 10-second audio, in the event that they do not You have time to make a call. For this urgent attention, you will have to press this button 5 times repeatedly in less than 6 seconds.
