More than in our neighboring countries.
We have been talking about the price of gasoline and diesel all year, due to a constant rise that, yes, in recent weeks has changed the trend and has given drivers a slight breather. Now, despite this momentary relaxation, the balance of the course is not good: this is all that the price of gasoline and diesel has risen in 2022.
Analyzing the case of gasoline through the European Commission’s Oil Bulletin: on December 13, 2021 the price of 95 in Spain was 1,479 euros, on June 13 it stood at 2,117 euros and in the past 5 December returned to 1,688 euros.
The fluctuations in prices and the current trend have meant that we ended the year with gasoline “only” 14.13% more expensive than 12 months ago, but that does not mean that for most of all of 2022 the price was inflated by a considerably higher percentage.
Of the neighboring countries, Spain is the one in which its cost has increased the most, but even so the rates in our market are lower than in most of these: 1,689 euros in Italy, 1,733 euros in France and 1,801 euros in Germany.
The case of diesel is even more accentuated and, again, taking the European Commission’s Oil Bulletin as a reference: on December 13, 2021 diesel cost 1,346 euros, on June 13 it reached 2,003 euros and on December 5 registered 1,763 euros.
The path is similar to that of gasoline, and it is that in recent months it has dropped slightly, but in the accumulated year, diesel is 30.98% more expensive than in 2021. Again, it is the neighboring country where the rise in rates has been more pronounced.
