Ford puts on sale in Europe a new edition of the Mustang which has been baptized as California Special, which refers to the limited series Mustang GT California Special of 1968; It is characterized by exclusive design details and equipment, and is only available for the Ford Mustang Convertible (the convertible model with a soft top).

The California Special Series is only available for the Mustang GT with a soft top.

Taking inspiration from the original model, the new California Special features black horizontal stripes along its sides with red ‘GT/CS’ badging, which is also featured on the decklid and on the side of the grille ( where the characteristic galloping horse does not appear). The front bumper features a larger lower lip, and 19-inch five-spoke wheels come as standard. The catalog of colors for the body gives a choice between nine shades; among them, the ‘Cyber Orange’ that you can see in the photo gallery of this article.

The newly unveiled model is reminiscent of the 1968 Ford Mustang GT California Special.

Inside, heated and cooled leather and cloth front seats are standard, sporting the model’s badge on their backrests. ‘California Special’ script also makes an appearance on the dashboard and embroidered on the floor mats.

This particularly well-appointed edition sports exclusive details on its exterior and interior.

The new Ford Mustang California Special still has no final price in Spain. In any case, and as I said at the beginning, it goes on sale only with the convertible bodywork (which in our market is associated with the GT engine and its powerful 450 hp 5.0 V8); and therefore, we will not be able to choose this special series if we intend to get hold of a Ford Mustang fastback, the sporty Ford Mustang Mach-1 or the electric Ford Mustang Mach-E GT.
