Sainz and Alonso continue to leave good feelings in Monaco, in this session they have finished in third and fourth position respectively.
Max Verstappen has found the good feeling behind the wheel of his Red Bull RB19 in Free Practice 2 of the Monaco GP, after struggling with the settings this morning in the first session. The Dutch rider led the time table, beating Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who suffered a minor accident at the end of the practice session.
Sainz had started the second free practice in Monte Carlo as he finished the first, in the lead. The Spaniard set the pace on soft tires with a time of 1:12.569, closely followed by a Fernando Alonso who was just a tenth behind his compatriot.
Halfway through the session, and after a fast lap in which he had failed to overtake the two Spaniards, Max Verstappen managed to put together three good sectors to achieve a time of 1:12.462 and place himself at the top of the time table. Moments later, Charles Leclerc, who had not done good laps until then, stopped the clock just 65 thousandths behind the Dutchman.
This moved Sainz to third place and Alonso to fourth and when the man from Madrid was about to try to improve his time, he hit the guardrail and suffered a slight accident against the wall that prevented him from finishing the session in the car.
Despite the setback, the man from Madrid has shown his good performance on the Monegasque track, leading Free Practice 1 and setting good times in Free Practice.

After Alonso, who remained in fourth place until the end of Free Practice 2, the timer was stopped by the McLaren of Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton, followed by Sergio Pérez, Valtteri Bottas, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon to complete the top ten places.
Equality is maximum on the Monegasque track, since the first four are barely two tenths behind, and also the first two set their best times much later than Sainz and Alonso, at a time when they were no longer pushing to the maximum . The top ten are in just seven tenths.
