For many, The Office is one of the cult series of recent years. However, this does not mean that changes have not been made to the script or scenes have not been removed to redirect the story and make it even more attractive to the viewer.

When series or films land on our screen, there have previously been different production and editing processes that have eliminated certain scenes for a multitude of reasons. In the case of The Officeit is no secret that his popularity has led him to accumulate die-hard fans around the world that number in the millions. And much of the blame lies with him Dwight, one of the most charismatic and peculiar characters in the entire plot.

In fact, the team that is behind the production of the series had prepared a joke for the final season that would have definitely ended the patience of said character. However, the lack of time forced it to be removed, despite the good reception it would have had.

Cheating on Dwight

If you are passionate about The Office, It won’t surprise you if we tell you that constantly trying to get on Dwight’s nerves was one of Jim’s great passions. In different episodes we can see how the latter had designed all kinds of jokes, some more serious than others, to test the tolerance and patience that Dwight was capable of.

During the last season of the series, one of Jim’s goals was to do everything he could to make Dwight you’d think you were living in the Matrix. To achieve this, they had everything planned down to the last detail, such as choosing a cat loaded with meaning. It’s worth remembering that when in the Matrix one of the characters came across the same cat twice, this meant that there was a fault in the program.

As we say, all the details of the joke are thought out and there was no way to think that Dwight wasn’t going to fall for it.as it ended up happening later. However, in the end it could not be broadcast and had to be deleted. Fortunately, however, we were able to see it afterwards.

The deleted scene

Initially, as we have already anticipated, we could not see the scene due to problems with the timing from the production company. However, when NBC decided to move the series to Peacock, a streaming service from the network itself, it decided to release it with the intention of giving a a great surprise to their fans.

In it, we can see how it is Hank’s security guard who takes on all the prominence and replicates the classic scene of the red pill or the blue pill. All of this, obviously, under the watchful eye of all those who had orchestrated the joke through a hidden camera located on the ceiling of one of the rooms.

I’m sure fans of The Office are lamenting that the episode ultimately didn’t air, but thanks to NBC We were able to uncover a scene that would otherwise have ended up buried in the company’s archives.
