Great trick to raise the volume even more in the Movistar Plus+ UHD deco

One of the latest updates that Movistar introduced for its Movistar Plus+ UHD set-top box increased the sound performance for the operator’s television. Little by little, through software, the performance has been adjusted so that everything is at the most optimal levels possible and the volume was not going to be less.

In order not to depend exclusively on the audio output of your television, the “Volume level” function of the Movistar UHD set-top box allows you to adjust the sound level for those Smart TVs in which, no matter how much we turn up the sound, the problem comes precisely from the audio source.

Change the volume on the Movistar deco

As we said, through this “Volume level” function, the level or gain of the sound signal that the decoder sends to the television through the HDMI cable is managed, minimizing the problem of some televisions as long as the “automatic volume” function , which equalizes the volume of TV and HDMI, did not work for you.

The first thing you have to do is lower the volume of the television to a minimum, since by raising the volume of the deco to the maximum, the sound level may be thunderous and not only disturb the neighbors, but the speakers may be damaged of the Smart TV.

Once this step is done, it will be the turn to play with the deco, so we will need the Movistar Plus+ remote control and we will see in the main menu the classic icon of a gear present on mobiles, computers and other devices. We enter this settings menu.

Among the options to choose from, we will see that there is the one we are looking for: “Volume level”. Inside we will see that we have a couple of options: normal, which is the one that is activated by default, and “High”, which is the one that we are going to choose so that there is an increase in the level of gain.

Finally, we will simply have to press the back button and return so that the changes are saved. Finally, we will adjust the ideal level using the remote control of the TV to choose the combined volume that seems correct to us.

An old problem, now solved

The Movistar deco audio problem is nothing new. Since the old ones began to be installed or renovated, many users have reported that even turning up the volume on their television to the maximum did not achieve optimum sound levels.

«I am surprised by what is happening to me with the Movistar 4K decoder (WiFi version). I have to really turn up the volume on the TV to get an acceptable volume level. My living room is small and with the TV channels I hardly have to go beyond 6 or 7 to hear perfectly. However, with the deco, I have to go above 20 and it still sounds very low.”

“The volume of the sound from the UHD decoder is very low and getting more and more. The DTT channels are heard well with a volume level between 7 and 9, another device I have (a Fire TV Basic Edition) at a level between 12 and 17 and, however, when I put the Movistar+ decoder I have to raise the volume to a level higher than 30”.

Now we will not only have a few extra decibels, but when configuring the deco as we have told you, you will see an indicator in which you will know that you have the maximum sound setting of the deco and you will no longer need to raise the Smart TV so much.
