Honda’s well-known retro scrambler, the CL500, already has a little sister, a smaller-displacement twin, the 2023 Honda CL250.

Based on the same CL500 presented a couple of months ago at the 2022 Milan show, at Honda they have created an identical twin sister in everything, except for its engine, the small Honda CL250.

This retro mini scrambler is absolutely the same as the new arrival with half a liter of displacement, identical, so much so that to differentiate them you will have no choice but to direct your gaze towards the engine.

So, Honda’s first stratagem is more than achieved, because they launch a low cost CL500, in case someone doesn’t come to buy the 500 but loves this style.

This CL250 instead of equipping the twin cylinder of the CB500 family, mounts a single cylinder -4T, LC, 4V, DOHC, PGM-FI- of only 249 cc

As a result, its weight is reduced along with its power -approximately 26 CV-, which in this case is not too much but enough for someone who wants to take their first steps in the motorcycle world.

The 2023 Honda CL250 is a clone of the CL500, but with a smaller displacement

In the cycle part we find the same multitubular steel chassis of the CL500, with alloy wheels, 19″ front and 17″ rear.

Braking is entrusted to a 310 mm front disc bitten by a conventional double-piston caliper, plus a 240 mm rear disc, with ABS.

The alloy wheels are fitted with Dunlop Mixtours tires in sizes 110/80 x 19″ and 150/70 x 17″.

We know about the little CL250 from our Japanese colleagues at Young Machine.

The suspensions are also made up of a 41/150 mm fork, with the bars protected by rubber bellows, and a pair of shock absorbers that work on a double-arm steel swingarm with a circular profile.

The rounded tank, the raised exhaust with a protective grill in polished steel, and its simplicity of lines and equipment, are the same as on the 500.

In other words, it also retains the small circular headlight with four LED optics, the circular LED indicators and the retro-style rear light, as well as the wide and raised handlebars, the retro upholstered seat at a height of 790 mm.

The instrumentation is also the same simple circular LCD screen with the necessary information, without anything superfluous.

As in the CL500, it can also be equipped with accessories from the three planned packs: Adventure, Travel and Style.

If all this has seemed wonderful to you, now we give you the sand: it will only be released in Japan, where this news comes from thanks to our friends at Young Machine…
