After having seen the patents in 2020, and the teasers in 2021, finally, in January 2023, we will see the electric Honda. And it will be on the occasion of the parade prior to the famous Rose Bowl college football game in Pasadena, USA. An event that is sponsored by Honda.
It is not that the Ala brand does not have electric models in some markets, but they are mopeds, work vehicles and small scooters, not motorcycles.
So, due to the great involvement with this important sporting event, Honda has taken the opportunity to publish a very illustrative drawing of the electric motorcycle that will parade on January 2, 2023… And it looks a lot like the patents filed by the Japanese brand in the past.
Based on the drawing and the information gathered, it would be a motorcycle equivalent to its CB125R of 125 cc and 15 CV of maximum power. Similarly, the Neo Sports Café style would be implemented in its design. You can see a conventional swingarm, a steel frame and a compact engine and battery that occupy the same space as a combustion engine.
This is a development policy for electric models similar to the one initiated by Kawasaki with its Z EV and Ninja EV 2023 models. That is, to take advantage of the base and components of some of its combustion models to develop electric motorcycles. Nor should we forget that Honda already announced in 2021 that by 2025 it wanted to have 10 electric two-wheeled vehicles ready for sale in its portfolio.
In a couple of weeks we will leave doubts!
