Dragon Ball Daima, the new series of the huge franchise created by Akira Toriyama, already has a streaming platform to broadcast it internationally. Although the Japanese will be able to watch it live on its debut on the Fuji TV channel, in other countries it will be possible to watch it via streaming from the same day. However, although the license is already in the hands of a platform, as we are going to tell you, there is a small problem regarding its broadcast in Spain.
Lately, Son Goku fans have been experiencing a few weeks full of great news. First, it was announced a few days ago that all the classic series would be streaming in the near future. And that was already great news. But now the situation is even better because it has been announced that Dragon Ball Daima already has, as we indicated, a streaming platform for its broadcast. The bad news is that it has not been specified whether the broadcast will also cover its premiere in Spain or not. Possibly yes, but let’s see how the situation is.
It will be Crunchyroll
In a recent post in Spanish, Crunchyroll reports that Dragon Ball Daima will premiere on the same day as in Japan. It will do so in North America, South America, Central America, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia, and the Indian Subcontinent. Therefore, it remains to be seen what plans they have for Europe. Does this mean that the license will not cover the premiere in our country? It is unlikely.
Crunchyroll is used to acquiring this type of international license and it is rare for them to miss out on a big fish like Dragon Ball Daima. It should also be remembered that Dragon Ball Super was on Crunchyroll, so it would be quite logical for its premiere to also take place on the platform specialized in anime. The only exception that could occur would be if AnimeBox, the streaming service of Selecta Visión, gets involved. It would not be so strange, since they have recently signed an agreement to carry the classic Dragon Ball series and, who knows, they could surprise us and end up announcing its premiere in Spain.
In either case, the premiere in our country will most likely also take place on October 11. Keep in mind, however, that if the broadcast is almost at 12 midnight in Japan, the first episode would not be available in Spain until, at the earliest, five in the afternoon. But, without a doubt, there would be time for it to arrive on the 11th itself.
The latest series with the Akira Toriyama touch
Dragon Ball Daima is going to be a special series. Not only because Goku’s adventures are returning after the death of its author, but because Akira Toriyama was involved in its conception and put his own particular identifying stamp on it. A good demonstration of this is that we will meet Goku again in his child state, just as it happened in Dragon Ball GT, although in this case there will be other characters, a large part of them, who will also appear in the same state.
This series celebrates the 40th anniversary of the franchise, an epic event that will give fans the opportunity to thrill with excitement at the start of a new story. On Crunchyroll, the premiere will be in its original version with subtitles in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The series will bring back the legendary Masako Nozawa, who once again provides the voice of Goku to maintain what is already one of the longest-running roles in anime history. Alongside her, there will be new voices that will be in charge of interpreting the characters that will debut and that will be alongside some of the fans’ favourites.
After this news, all that remains is for it to be definitively confirmed that Dragon Ball Daima will also be coming to Crunchyroll in Spain or for AnimeBox to enter the scene. It would be unlikely that another platform would get into the bidding, but knowing the popularity of Dragon Ball, it is obvious that anything can happen. In any case, on paper, the international license is Crunchyroll’s and possibly that will be decisive.
