The Akhasi brand had announced through a recent “teaser” the launch of an initiation electric motorcycle for the beginning of June. And this has not been long in coming, materializing in the new Kawasaki Elektrode, which will begin marketing in 2023.

The new children’s electric motorcycle is aimed at children between the ages of eight and 8, and is positioned as an access vehicle for future motocross riders. It is powered by a small 250W brushless motor that sits on the rear wheel. It is completely sealed and has no moving parts for durability and protection against water and dirt. While its cooling is by air.

As far as the battery is concerned, it is a fixed lithium-ion battery. It is housed in the chassis, between the seat and the handlebar, which favors the centralization of the handlebars. Thus facilitating the driving of the smallest and initiated. Estimated full charge time is 2hrs 30mins; and the brand announces a duration of approximately two and a half hours with a single charge. On the other hand, note that it has an automatic shutdown system. In this way, if the motorcycle is inactive for ten minutes, it turns off, conserving the battery.

The Kawasaki Elektrode has three adjustable power modes through the handlebar. They can only be manipulated with the motorcycle stopped, and can be blocked with an access code. So that the child does not commit an imprudence. Speeds are limited to 7.7 km/h, 11.6 km/h and 20 km/h, depending on the power level selected.

Also, with the engine off, it can be used as a bicycle without pedals, by removing the folding steel footrests covered by rubber. Although in this case the weight penalizes it slightly.

The Elektrode comes equipped with an aluminum chassis, 16” wheels with knobby tires, and rigid front and rear suspension. While braking is entrusted to a 160mm diameter cable actuated rear disc.

The handlebar, the saddle and the brake lever are adjustable through the system called Ergo-Fit by Kawasaki. In this way riders of different ages and sizes can find the most comfortable driving position. In any case, it should be noted that it has been designed for children between 94 cm and 140 cm. With a maximum weight of 44 kg.

Aesthetically, the 2023 Kawasaki Elektrode comes decorated in lime green, with a front number plate in the style of the KX motocross family. The price in Spain is yet to be determined, although we know that in the US it will be €941.
