Orange’s idea to continue expanding its 5G coverage throughout Spain is coming true. The operator continues its efforts to make it possible for more populations to enjoy this fifth-generation mobile connection. In fact, according to the latest data from the operator, it already exceeds the barrier of 85% coverage throughout the country.

It was a few months ago when one of MasOrange’s main brands made it clear what its goals were regarding 5G coverage. At that time, they confirmed their commitment to bring this mobile network to 3,700 Spanish municipalities, and everything indicates that they are going to fulfill it. Basically, because the figures of the orange operator are already close to reaching the objective that the teleco had set.

Orange brings its 5G to more than 3,500 towns

One of the great impulses to continue improving services to its customers has occurred specifically in the extension of its 5G network in 2024. As the orange operator of the MasOrange Group explains, there are already more than 3,500 municipalities that can navigate through this mobile network. Therefore, they already enjoy “the highest mobile speed in Spain”, just as they can take advantage of each of the advantages of this connection technology in “speed, ultra-low latency and connected objects”. To be more exact, this coverage is already available in 3,530 municipalities in Spanish territory.

However, Orange’s plans end here. And all because the French telecom wants to continue with its deployments to cover almost 3,700 towns with its fifth-generation infrastructure before the end of the year. So it will be a great growth if the 2023 data are taken into account. For example, by the end of last year, Orange reached almost 2,600 municipalities with its 5G coverage, which represents a growth of almost 1,100 towns in just one year. anus.

It already reaches 86% of the population

As the operator Orange has announced, its 5G coverage already reaches up to 86% of the Spanish population currently. Furthermore, by the end of 2024, it is explained that practically 100% of Spanish municipalities with more than 10,000 inhabitants will be connected to 5G, which represents a figure of 750 towns. A relevant fact, especially because around 80% of the country’s population is concentrated in these locations, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics.

“The company wants to play an important driving role in making this technology accessible to all citizens, whether they reside or work in urban areas or in rural areas.” It is precisely for this reason that within its deployment plans for this year, the truth is that it “plans to reach more than 2,400 municipalities with less than 5,000 inhabitants with its fifth generation network, of which more than half are towns with less than 1,000 residents.” And, on the other hand, MasOrange sticks out its chest by making it clear that it is the leader in the 700 MHz band, a fundamental point to reduce the digital divide in the country. In addition, there is also the 3.5 GHz band, which is present in towns with more than 500,000 inhabitants.
