We are used to seeing in recent times how pirate IPTV lists that offer certain payment services at much lower prices have become more prominent and that is the main attraction for those who purchase these subscriptions. However, it seems that even the free FAST TV platforms are not safe.

There are free television platforms like Pluto TV that operate under a format known as FAST television (free ad-supported streaming television) and are financed by ads and that is the next target of pirates: pirated IPTV lists with Pluto TV without ads.

Pluto TV is in danger due to pirated IPTV

A condition of using Pluto TV is that it must only be consumed through approved software. In Spain we can access Pluto TV through their websiteand from today, we will be able to access all its content through the following platforms: Windows (Microsoft Store), Xbox consoles, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Samsung TV, Samsung TV+, LG Smart TV, LG Channels, Hisense TV, Sony PlayStation 4, PS5, Android devices and iOS devices.

Movies to watch on Pluto tv

In addition to compatibility, the use of these devices also ensures that the ecosystem is closed and its contents are monetized. Hence, when we see that pirated IPTV lists begin to appear and some are configured to access Pluto TV streaming from their official sources and thus avoid ads, the existence of Pluto TV becomes dangerous.

Hence, a complaint from the Motion Picture Association has now been filed with GitHub stating that these playlists promote piracy and should therefore be considered illegal. the same was done against a GitHub repository that offered this content through a file called PlutoTV_mr.m3u and that, for the moment, has already disappeared.

Even if it’s free, it’s also piracy

The language used in the complaint makes it abundantly clear that the MPA views pirated IPTV playlists that rip FAST TV services as threatening and illegal under copyright law.

M3U Lists

“We are writing to notify you and request your help in addressing the widespread movie and TV copyright infringement that is occurring by virtue of the operation of the playlist file, PlutoTV_mr.m3u, which is hosted and available for download from their GitHub repository at [ubicación anterior del repositorio]”, says the complaint. “Specifically, in the URL, the repository hosts and offers the download of the Playlist, which in turn is used to commit massive infringement of copyrighted movies and TV shows.”

GitHub responded by removing the playlist and the associated repository no longer exists. While that solves the immediate problem, Pluto TV playlists, and playlists for many other similar platforms, aren’t going to disappear overnight.
