Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT

Who is better in engine, performance, consumption and price, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT or the Lamborghini Urus S? We take a look at what each sporty SUV has to offer.

The high demand for SUVs has forced manufacturers to break into the supercar segment with this type of vehicle. They have done it vigorously, with very high-performance vehicles that little by little have established themselves as a real purchase alternative for many drivers who aspire to this vehicle format.

For this reason, today we want to help you make the best purchase decision possible, analyzing and determining which is better in terms of engine, performance, consumption and price, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT or the Lamborghini Urus S? We are going to face them in a technical comparison, where we will also analyze sections such as dimensions and the trunk.

Dimensions

We start precisely with the dimensions. In this case, we have chosen the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT because it is the version that can rival Lamborghini’s powerful sports SUV. It is an SUV that is 4,940 mm long, 1,995 mm wide and 1,635 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,895 mm and an interior for four occupants.

Its rival is Italian and belongs to the Volkswagen Group like the Cayenne. This is the new Lamborghini Urus S, or what is the same, the version of access to the range of the model. Its body measures 5,110 mm long, 2,020 mm wide and 1,640 mm high, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. In this case, the interior offers space for five passengers.

Trunk

Let’s go with the trunk that, although it is not a determining factor in the purchase of this type of vehicle, it can be an aspect that ends up declining the balance on one side or the other. For the Porsche model, the boot has a volumetric capacity of 550 liters, expandable to 1,465 liters by folding down the rear seat backs.

For its part, the Lamborghini sports SUV enjoys greater capacity as a result of its larger exterior measurements. Specifically, the trunk has a volumetric capacity of 615 liters and by folding down the rear seat backs this figure increases to 1,595 liters.

Engine

When it comes to the engine there are quite a few similarities. The Cayenne Turbo GT is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 640 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 850 Nm of torque from 2,300 rpm. The block is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission with torque converter and a four-wheel drive system.

Meanwhile, the Urus S features the same 4.0-liter biturbo V8 mechanics as the Urus (it’s an engine of Audi origin), but the power reaches 666 hp at 6,000 rpm with the same level of torque, 850 Nm at 2,300 rpm. Both the eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive is common to both models.

Benefits and consumption

But there are more differences when it comes to benefits. In the case of the Porsche, we are talking about a 0 to 100 km/h that completes in 3.3 seconds with a maximum speed of 300 km/h. It has a DGT C label, like the Urus S, with an average consumption of 14.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 319 g/km.

In the case of the Lamborghini model, it takes 3.5 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h, while its top speed is estimated at 305 km/h. The average consumption is identical to that of the Cayenne Turbo GT, and emits one more gram of CO2 per km, or what is the same, 320 g/km.

Price

And finally, we talk about prices. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is available in Spain from 237,734 euros.

Meanwhile, the Lamborghini Urus S has a starting price of 265,443 euros in our market.

Conclution

Although both SUVs have some similarities, there are also important differences to take into account. For example, the Lamborghini Urus S is 170mm longer, 25mm wider and 5mm taller than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, plus it offers 105mm more wheelbase.

This is reflected in the trunk, where the Lamborghini has 65 liters more volumetric capacity with both rows of seats available, and 130 liters more only when the front seats are operational.

The engine is identical in both cases, but the Urus S develops an additional 26 HP of power. Although it does not materialize in acceleration, since the Cayenne Turbo GT is 0.2 seconds faster in 0 to 100 km/h, in top speed the Lamborghini wins by 5 km/h. There are no differences in consumption and emissions are only 1 g / km lower in the Porsche.

Finally, the price is almost 28,000 euros lower in the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, money that you can invest in improving its standard equipment or installing custom accessories.
