Prime Video and Netflix will lose a large number of movies in the month of July

The movements in the streaming platforms’ catalogues continue and, in July, we will witness the disappearance of a large number of titles. One of the services that will be most affected is Prime Video, which will suffer the loss of some of the big films that, due to copyright, belong to the natural content family of Max. For its part, Netflix is also preparing to have many losses of titles that were available until now.

We already know that Warner Bros. Discovery has a solid distribution of content that it licenses to other streaming platforms to feed its catalogs. It’s a different approach, but it’s probably going well for them. It also means that many of the big movies they license are only available for a limited time, as will be the case with the Prime Video removals in July.

Prime Video loses all these movies

Not all the movies that will disappear from Prime Video in the month of July correspond to Max, but you will notice that it happens in a large number of them. The month will begin with the disappearance of several series, such as Guilt or Justified: Raylan’s Law, while on the 12th the first film loss will occur: Let Me Out, which will undoubtedly leave Prime Video with honors in sight of his great fame.

On the 15th, the three seasons of Absentia will be deleted, and on July 30, the three seasons of Isabel. The next day, the “great erasure” will take place, as all these films will disappear:

  • Matrix
  • The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
  • The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
  • The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
  • Grand Turin
  • The curious Case of Benjamin Button
  • Matrix Reloaded
  • Infiltrated in class
  • Matrix Revolutions

Other films that will disappear in July from Prime Video include Dune, the classic version, or Babylon, which you may know is among the July releases on Movistar Plus+. In addition, other important titles will drop from Prime Video this Sunday, such as many of the films in the Transformers universe.

What else is disappearing from platforms in July?

While it seems that Prime Video is going to be the platform that loses the most recognizable titles, there are other services that are also going to lose that are worth mentioning. SkyShowtime is not going to be one of them, as its catalog is always shrinking and growing, making it practically impossible to keep track of. In the case of Netflix, we know that The Pianist will be removed on July 14, as well as Pride and Prejudice. On the 21st, it will be the turn of Castaway and on July 30, I Am Legend will no longer be available.

Other titles that disappear from Netflix in July include the legendary Good Burger and films such as The Killer, Vacation, Out of Orbit Heroes, The Wolf of Wall Street or The Orphan. Also, keep in mind that on August 30, a large number of movies also disappear, such as Angels and Demons, The Da Vinci Code, The Patriot, The Revenant, The Legend of Zorro, Gone Girl, Mine, Pursued or Seven Souls.

Finally, if we talk about Filmin, on July 1, two movies will no longer be accessible that it is advisable to see if you have not had the opportunity: Taxi Driver and The Hunter. Of course, there will be more deletions throughout the month, but we have reviewed some of the most important ones so that you keep them in mind and can organize yourself. If there is a movie you would like to watch, enjoy it and you won’t have to wait for it to return to the platform you subscribe to!

We haven’t talked to you about Disney+ because they normally remove very little content and do so without much notice, while Max is adding and right now it’s not removing practically anything. There is one exception that will disappoint comedy fans: the disappearance of ¡Socorro! The holidays are coming, the legendary 1983 film that marked a milestone in road trips and that, in any case, you still have available in the Movistar Plus+ catalogue. We do not forget to mention that we share this information with you thanks to the notice that JustWatch has given us with its particular calendar of withdrawals from streaming platforms.
