We started 2022 at a good pace, at least that is confirmed by the data provided by ANESDOR on the motorcycle and light vehicle sector, closing this second month of the year with a growth of 23.3% in year-on-year terms. A very good sign, especially considering that it is the shortest month of the year and that, despite this, a total of 14,686 vehicles have been registered, divided into: 12,422 motorcycles, 1,367 mopeds, 265 tricycles and 632 quadricycles.

Distributed by segments, in terms of motorcycles, scooters top the list with 25.5%, closely followed by road motorcycles with 24.8% and, finally, off-road motorcycles with a drop of -13 ,4%. We must also highlight the recovery of the moped segment, which has improved its data by 30.4%, and, of course, the excellent pace maintained by tricycles with an increase of 61.6%, light quadricycles with an increase of 52.1% and heavy quadricycles, somewhat lower, with only 5.8%.Registrations February 2022Registrations February 2022

Regarding electric motorcycles, they have rebounded, doubling deliveries in the same month of February 2021, as a result of the growth of both the private channel and the rental channel. While by communities, the three markets that have offered the best data have been the Balearic Islands, 109.4%, Galicia, 45.5%, and La Rioja 38.3%. Given these good figures, José María Riaño, Secretary General of ANESDOR, stated: “The rebound in February confirms the positive trend with which the 2022 financial year began, consolidating the figure for January, which experienced year-on-year growth of 33.7% ”.

In short, very good news that adds to the recovery of the Vive La Moto Show in Madrid (IFEMA, between March 31 and April 2), possibly one more sign that brings us closer to the long-awaited normality.
