From when Cupra was Seat.
It seems like yesterday, but it has been five years since the launch of Cupra was announced as an independent brand from Seat. The process has given rise to new cooks, as well as nomenclature changes for others, which can sometimes lead to confusion. Today we are talking about the Seat León Cupra, the forerunner of the current Cupra León.
Although there have been several generations of the model, we are going to focus on the last one, which was the one that handed over the baton and was updated together with the 2017 Seat León.
At the time it was marketed with the three bodies of the model, but when the three-door SC disappeared, it kept the five-door and the family. They all shared the same outfit, with specific bumpers, 19-inch wheels, double exhaust, etc.
Then came the Seat León Cupra R, which began to sport a two-tone finish in dark metallic and copper (which would ultimately be transferred to Cupra), leaving multiple elements with exposed carbon fiber (such as the diffuser), mounting two-tone 19 inches etc
The mechanical section was also common, hiding under the hood a 2.0 TSI engine that delivers 300 CV of power when combined with the DSG change but amounted to 310 CV with the six-speed manual transmission. Of course, while the five-door was exclusively front-wheel drive, the Sportstourer could mount the integral 4DRIVE.
The latter was capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and reached a top speed limited to 250 km/h.

We had the opportunity to put ourselves at the controls on a stretch of mountain road closed to the public, which allowed us to make the most of its potential:

second hand seat leon cupra
Despite the fact that it was the most expensive and exclusive version of the León, the truth is that the second-hand Seat León Cupra offer is quite extensive, with almost half a thousand copies for sale.
The oldest date from the early 2000s, while the newest go up to 2020. Those with the longest run are close to 250,000 kilometers, but it is possible to find units with just 10,000. Its price range is quite wide, ranging from around 11,000 euros to 40,000 euros.
Cupra Leon VS Seat Leon Cupra
Having analyzed everything that the Seat León Cupra puts on the table, now we are going to see what its descendant, the Cupra León, offers.
Logically, it is based on the current generation of the Seat, so its overall appearance is less sharp and has more rounded shapes. As in its predecessor, it shows its sportier side, but within a contained aesthetic, without falling into excessively aggressive elements.
Also like that one, it is available in a five-door or Sportstourer family body, but, unlike the model from which it took over, it has a broader mechanical offer, which includes more rational engines.
Thus, it has recently received access engines in the form of two 150 and 190 CV gasoline blocks (the first with microhybrid technology), which join a fairly varied range: 245, 300 and 310 CV gasoline engines; and plug-in hybrids of 204 and 245 hp.
