SkyShowtime sets a date for the return of one of its best series

SkyShowtime has started the month of July leaving behind the controversy of the last few days thanks to a new batch of films, including some very popular titles. But, at the same time, it has announced the return of one of its best series. With it, we recover one of the most powerful stories we have enjoyed in recent times.

The streaming service SkyShowtime is celebrating with its expansion on Prime Video and the addition of more subscribers who are beginning to take advantage of its platform. Added to the good news is that we already know the moment when the series Tulsa King will return, which can be said to have been one of its best recent premieres. It will be the second season and we will once again meet the legendary Sylvester Stallone in the leading role as the boss Dwight Manfredi.

General Stallone Returns

Until Tulsa King, Sylvester Stallone had never taken on the lead role of a television series. But it is clear that it is never too late if the project is good. The actor surprised in 2022 with the first season of this series, a total of nine episodes that caused a sensation not only among the actor’s fans, but also among all television lovers. Tulsa King was a very well-received surprise that made Stallone, who has been really active in recent years, show that at over 70 years old he can still take on large-scale projects.

This second season has been a long awaited. It arrives more than a year later and, as confirmed now, SkyShowtime will premiere it on September 18. As in the first season, the episodes will be released weekly, so we will have fun for a good period of time.

What to expect from season 2?

The first season, although it corresponds to the content that comes exclusively to SkyShowtime, is also available on Movistar Plus+. If you haven’t seen it, we won’t give you any spoilers, so don’t worry. We can tell you the premise. The story tells us how Dwight Manfredi gets out of prison after having spent a whopping 25 years there. When he gets out, his boss already has a mission for him: move to Tulsa and establish a base of operations that allows him to continue with business. But when he arrives he finds that not only does he have no contacts, but he will have to recruit a group to be able to carry out his plans. It won’t be easy.

As for the second season, what we can tell you is that there will be new faces, as you can see in the small preview that SkyShowtime has shared online and that we show you below. It is clear that the new batch of episodes will bring more incidents and situations full of action and tension, as well as the rest of the characteristic elements of Tulsa King, where there is also a dose of comedy.

One thing you might notice in the second season, though the show will probably make sure it isn’t, is that filming will no longer take place in Oklahoma, but will instead be shot in Atlanta. It seems that there were some issues with the production and that various members of the crew requested this change, which, in any case, shouldn’t affect the series in any way. What we will notice is the presence of new actors who will do their part to make Tulsa King reach the top.

So, we already know that the legendary Neal McDonough and Frank Grillo, as well as Tatiana Zappardino and Annabella Sciorra will appear. Sciorra certainly deserves a special mention, since she not only appeared in the film Cop Land with Stallone, a film directed by James Mangold (director of Logan), but also participated in the legendary series The Sopranos.
