Several users are complaining that their Samsung Galaxy is showing a bright green line on the screen. In all cases, the problem started occurring just after the latest Android operating system updates and security patches.

The Galaxy range of phones is Samsung’s most popular and an all-time favorite around the world. However, in recent days, some consumers have noticed a green line appearing.

According to the media Android Authority, these defects, reminiscent of a broken panel, are being noticed on the Galaxy S21 FE and S21 Ultra. For its part, SamMobile has detected cases in the Galaxy Z Flip 3, A73, M21 and M52 5G, among others.

Why do the Galaxy show a green line?

Regardless of the model, the green line has started to be noticeable right after the latest updates. Most affected users realized they had this issue after downloading the April security patch and Android 14.

This is unacceptable Samsung.

Another soldier down.

I was updating this to the April patch, Galaxy S21 Ultra. Samsung really brought a new green line issue. Oh and btw, the phone is in mint condition as you can see from prior tweets in my TL. Please tag users for reach. https://t.co/unFLOkunA2

An X user (@Entroprox) recently shared an image of his mobile «This is unacceptable at Samsung. Another fallen soldier.” In his case, he has a Galaxy S21 Ultra and was updating the security patch.

In his complaint, the Internet user emphasizes that, before the update, his phone was “in perfect condition.” So clearly the problem is related to the patch.

The failure can go further. A user named Aamir Siddiqui, also on X, showed his Galaxy S21 FE with many more lines. In your specific case, these are seen in different colors (green, pink and white).

Everyone gives OnePlus shit for the green line issue. But that’s the only company I know that has handled it well.

Here’s a Galaxy S21 FE with 12+ green/pink/white lines and no resolution from Samsung.

Problems with the Galaxy green line

Samsung smartphones are not presenting any functionality problems. Apparently, beyond how obviously annoying it is to have a green line on the panel, affected users have not detected any failure in the system.

The failure can be a distraction when viewing content on mobile phones. Nobody wants to have a green line making it impossible for them to see the screen.

Nowadays, many people watch YouTube videos or series on Netflix, Prime Video or other platforms from their mobile phones. With this defect that has appeared, there will be those who cannot do it without losing part of the visual experience.

In addition, there are individuals who fear that the green line will remain in place over time. Some may think their panel is broken and decide to replace the screen.

It is not the first time that a green line appears

At the moment, Samsung has not given any official information about the green line that appears on some updated Galaxy phones. However, this is not the first time that their phones have had this problem.

On other occasions, a system update or even restarting the device has been enough. For this reason, you should not worry too much if you are one of those affected by this ruling.

Until Samsung comments on what happened, we recommend that you calm your haste and do not go to a repair service. A technician may not be able to fix it with a simple screen change and the brand’s solution will most likely not take long to arrive.
