Like all Elon Musk announcements, you have to take it with a grain of salt…
There are several events that the employees/shareholders of the Palo Alto brand have marked as essential on the calendar. One is the Cyber RoundUp, the annual meeting of shareholders that held its 2023 edition this week. It was there that Elon Musk announced that Tesla will put two new electric cars up for sale.
That and more, because we already know that when Musk speaks, good headlines come… During his speech at the shareholders’ meeting, which this year was held in Austin (Texas, USA), the Tesla CEO spoke about the launch of two highly anticipated models.
Tesla will put two electric cars up for sale
But the big bombshell of the event has been the announcement of two new electric cars. Musk has said that Tesla’s team of engineers and designers is “building a new model and designing another.” He has hardly given more information but while he was saying these words, behind him, the silhouette of a mysterious car (the one that opens this news) was projected, which has given the green light to speculation.
Almost all the conjectures point in the same direction: the teaser could be a preview of Tesla’s cheap electric car, a model that could cost less than $ 25,000 (about 30,000 euros in exchange) and that Elon Musk has been hinting at since 2020.

There is nothing of the second model, the one they say they are designing at the moment, although it is also expected to be a more affordable car than the current ones for sale (although with the latest sales the Tesla Model Y costs just over 30,000 euros).
What Elon Musk has said is that both models are called to be best sellers; in fact, the CEO of Tesla has advanced that they expect to sell more than five million units (adding both models).
The Cybertuck arrives and the Roadster is delayed
But not only new models have been talked about in Austin. Elon Musk has made reference to two models for which we have been waiting for a long time:
- The bad news is starring the Tesla Roadster that delays its launch, at least, until 2024
- The good news is for the Tesla Cybertruck that, according to Elon Musk, the first orders will be delivered later this year.
In both cases, you have to take the dates with caution because the Roadster has been a promise since 2017 and the Tesla Cybertruck was presented in 2019 with the promise of becoming a reality in one or two years…
