Spanish gastronomy is full of recipes that are delicious. We have a culinary culture that many other countries in the world would like. But it is often difficult to stick to just one dish when it comes to recommending Spanish food to, for example, foreign friends. What if we ask the AI to do it? Now we tell you what their preferences are.
It is clear that AI does not eat. But that doesn’t mean you can’t imagine yourself eating. And that imagination must be as satisfying almost as it is for us to eat. Normally we talk about other topics with artificial intelligence, which you already know can generate faces, make summaries and even tell you jokes, but today we wanted to focus on food.
The top 10 Spanish food
We are going to make you suffer a little until we reach a single dish chosen by the AI. We begin with our tradition of asking you for a top 10 with which you inform us of your list of the best Spanish dishes. The most positive aspect is that artificial intelligence has been consistent and has not been limited to choosing dishes of a certain style. In fact, he has even put out some desserts. Something quite logical in view of the fact that the sweets prepared in Spain are truly wonderful.
The list he has given us with the top 10 is quite long, because he has put a comment on each dish. We also do not want to expand on this point, so we can tell you that the choices you have made are the following (without the order being important): paella, Spanish omelette, gazpacho, Galician-style octopus, Iberian ham, patatas bravas, Asturian fabada, ratatouille, Catalan cream and churros with chocolate. This is also the list on which we continue working with her so that she ends up with only one of those dishes. What will it be?
The other AI choices
Now the next thing we do is tell the artificial intelligence to keep 50% of the list it has made. And then we will move on to three only elections. In addition to seeing what their preferences are, what we also wanted was to see if ChatGPT had some intelligence to determine that the selected dishes should make some kind of sense together. That is to say, it would be illogical for me to put two sweets in a selection of only five dishes. Its results have been the following:
As you can see, we were a little disappointed that he chose two sweets. It doesn’t seem very logical to us, but maybe the AI is a little fond of sugar. We are going to let it pass because we must admit that they are two wonderful sweets. That he also chose paella makes a lot of sense, while Iberian ham is another ideal option, although plain and dry, without bread and tomato, perhaps it should not be on the list of dishes. Regarding the Galician-style octopus, it is a surprise, since we thought that the AI would be more typical and that it would opt for the potato omelette.
The next thing was to refine the top even more so that we were left with only three dishes. And this is where, at least, artificial intelligence has rectified its passion for sweets. They have also eliminated the Galician-style octopus that had caught our attention. This is your top 3:
Pay close attention to the comment he makes about the Catalan cream, because the AI recognizes that “as a dessert lover.” Therefore, our suspicions are confirmed. And we get the feeling that artificial intelligence is responding in an increasingly human way.
And we end with the definitive choice: the Spanish dish that you like the most. You might guess what it is, but we’re going to tell you anyway: paella. In addition, he gives us an elaborate response in which he justifies his decision as you can see in the following screenshot we have taken of the conversation.
Then, to continue encouraging the AI to continue learning to communicate in a human way, we wanted to throw an unexpected comment at it to see how it reacted. We leave it to you below:
We already told you before, we have a certain respect for the way he has been responding to us lately. Furthermore, we later told him if at that moment she was thinking about the croquettes from the previous conversation and he told us yes. He also ended by saying “who knows what the future holds in terms of technological advances.” We get goosebumps.
